About Torino

“Torino” is a city and an important business and cultural centre in Northern Italy. It is the capital city of Piemonte and was the first Italian capital from 1861 to 1865. The city is mainly on the western bank of the Po River, below its Susa Valley, and is surrounded by the western Alpine arch and Superga hill.


As the conference will be held during summer, the temperature can be quite high, around 30°C (86°F), with possible showers in the afternoon.

About Politecnico di Torino

The “Politecnico di Torino” (abbreviated as PoliTO) is the oldest Italian public technical university. The university offers several courses in the fields of Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, and Industrial Design. It is consistently ranked as one of the best universities in Italy and in the world. About 38,700 students are enrolled in the 90 programs offered by the Politecnico, of which 19% are international students from about 100 countries around the world.


The conference will be held in the Valentino Castle on the Po river, a House of Savoy from the 17th Century. It is the main teaching campus for Architecture and has an area of 23,000 sq. m.

The nearest airport is Torino Caselle, which is located approximately 16 km (9.9 mi) north-northwest of the city of Turin. The airport is well connected to the city center by bus, train, and taxis.
